New in PM Mastery: Matching, Multi-Select and Chart Questions in Every Mock

Every PM Mastery mock exam now includes three of the question types in PMI's 2026 Exam Content Outline beyond plain multiple choice: multi-select, chart-based and matching. Matching questions are new this week, in the practice quiz and in every mock. Missed matching and chart questions can now be redone from Review Missed, too.

What Changed

  • Matching questions. 12 new questions where you pair each item with its answer, one drop-down per row. Some lists include an extra answer that matches nothing. They cover topics like conflict techniques, team development stages, precedence relationships, earned value results and risk responses.
  • Every mock draws a fixed mix. Each 180-question mock has 10 multi-select questions from a pool of 53, 2 chart-based from a pool of 12, and 2 matching from a pool of 12. The rest are single-answer multiple choice, with the 35-question case-study section first.
  • Row-by-row review. After you submit, matching questions show each row in green or red, with the correct answer next to any row you missed.
  • Redo for every question type. Missed matching and chart questions now get a Redo button on Review Missed, the same as multiple choice and multi-select.

Why These Three

PMI's 2026 Exam Content Outline lists multiple-response and graphic-based questions as available on every delivery format, and matching on the computer-based test (pages 19 and 20). A mock that only serves single-answer questions leaves those formats for exam day. PMI does not publish how many of each type appear, and says the number varies by form, so our mix is our own choice, stated up front.

The full case for what a realistic mock should include, with every PMI page cited, is in PMP Mock Exam 2026: What a Realistic Full-Length Mock Should Include.

How Matching Works Here

The computer-based exam has you drag items from one column to another. PM Mastery uses a drop-down for each row instead, which works the same on a phone. A letter you pick in one row is greyed out in the others, because each answer is used once. A matching question counts as correct only when every row is right. That scoring is our choice; PMI does not publish how it scores matching.

Where to Find It

  • Practice quiz: Pass members get matching, multi-select and chart questions mixed into regular practice alongside multiple choice.
  • Mock exams: every new mock includes the mix above. Mocks you started before this change keep the questions they were drawn with.
  • Review Missed: the Redo button now covers every question type.

Full mocks and Redo are part of the PM Mastery Pass. The free tier covers 100 practice questions.

Common Questions

Does PM Mastery have matching questions for the 2026 PMP exam?
Yes. There are 12 matching questions, each pairing four or five items with their answers. They appear in the practice quiz, and every mock exam includes 2 of them.

How many multi-select questions are in a PM Mastery mock exam?
10 per mock, drawn from a pool of 53. Each mock also includes 2 chart-based and 2 matching questions. PMI does not publish its own mix, so these counts are our choice.

Can I redo matching and chart questions I got wrong?
Yes. Review Missed shows a Redo button on every missed question, including matching and chart questions. Redo is part of the PM Mastery Pass.

Why does PM Mastery use drop-downs instead of drag-and-drop for matching?
A drop-down per row works the same on a phone, a tablet and a laptop. The skill being tested is pairing each item with the right answer, and that is the same either way.
